Career Firefighter Thomas Farland joined the Acushnet Fire / Rescue Department as a call firefighter in 2004.  He was hired as a fulltime member in February 2006.  Firefighter Farland is certified as a Firefighter Level I/II and in Hazardous Materials to the Operations Level.  Tom is an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic and was previously employed by the Acushnet Emergency Medical Service.  Firefighter Farland currently works part-time as a Paramedic for the City of New Bedford and is currently pursuing certification as a Registered Nurse.
