Firefighter Matthew Roderiques joined the department in January 2004.  Firefighter Roderiques is a member of Company #1.  He is certified as a Firefighter Level I/II and in Hazardous Materials to the Operations Level.  Firefighter Roderiques is an EMT-Basic.  Within a few days of receiving his certification by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Firefighter I/II--and thereby authorized to enter burning structures--Firefighter Roderiques was a member of the initial attack team that knocked down a fire on Frank Street.  Firefighter Roderiques received a letter of commendation for his actions taken that night.
