Lieutenant Paul Martins became a member of the Acushnet Fire / Rescue Department in 1996 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004.  Lt. Martins is assigned to Engine Company #1 out of Station #1.  He is certified in many areas of firefighting including Firefighter Level I/II, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, Fire Officer I, Driver/Operator Pumper, and Emergency Vehicle Operator--Advanced.  Lt. Martins is a graduate of the United States Air Force Firefighting Academy where he successfully completed his 544 hours of training in Texas.  Lt. Martins took a leave of absence from the department in December 2004 in order to serve as an Air National Guard Firefighter in Iraq.
